SODzyme with GliSODin & Wolfberry 90 Vegetarian Caps by Life Extension

SODzyme with GliSODin & Wolfberry 90 Vegetarian Caps by Life Extension

The body’s supply of youthful antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) rapidly decreases with age. Fortunately SODzyme with GliSODin & Wolfberry combines three advanced SOD catalysts to replenish the body’s supply of SOD, vastly enhancing its natural antioxidant defenses.

The suggested daily dose of three capsules provides 2000 mg of SODzyme, a proprietary plant-based extract. In a study of 12 middle-aged volunteers of both sexes who took 2000 mg SODzyme daily for two weeks, SODzyme boosted serum SOD levels by 30% on average, and reduced toxic hydrogen peroxide by 47%.

The SODzyme formula also contains GliSODin, a patented, plant-derived form of SOD. GliSODin improves cellular antioxidant status while protecting against cell death induced by oxidative stress. In an animal study, small amounts of orally administered GliSODin raised blood levels of SOD by 89% and increased catalase levels by 171%. GliSODin has been shown to favorably affect nitric oxide activity and to reverse clinical measurements associated with endothelial dysfunction in humans. In a recent clinical trial, supplementation with GliSODin was effective in controlling the thickness of the carotid inner arterial lining and media layers as measured by ultrasonography-B in 76 adults aged 30-60.

SODzyme also supplies 100 mg of a standardized wolfberry (Lycium barbarum) fruit extract. When given to patients aged 64-80 years, wolfberry increased blood levels of SOD by 48% and lowered dangerous blood lipid peroxides by 65% in only 10 days.

SODzyme with GliSODin & Wolfberry is a 100% vegetarian product using only plant sources for Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) catalysts and vegetarian capsules. The SOD enzyme activity is certified based upon the NBT assay. GliSODin is a patented, non-GMO, water-dispersible form of SOD lypholized extract from the edible plant Curcumis melo (melon). GliSODin has been combined with a wheat gliadin protein matrix that protects SOD from degradation in the digestive tract and promotes its absorption in the small intestines. SODzyme and GliSODin stimulate the natural production of SOD by the body.

An exotic fruit known as the wolfberry may be a powerful addition to our arsenal of free radical fighters. Wolfberry, the fruit of Lycium barbarum or L. chinense, also called goji berry, is an excellent source of antioxidant agent in the daily dietary supplement. The active compounds include plant-derived polyphenolic antioxidants; carotenoids (beta-caro-tene, zeaxanthin, lutein, cryptoxanthin, and lycopene); vitamins including C, B1, B2, and niacin; more than 30 essential and trace minerals including zinc, iron, copper, calcium, selenium, and phosphorus; polysaccharides; and 18 amino acids including isoleucine, tryptophan, leucine and arginine. Wolfberry is found to have the highest ORAC values of all fruits. Based on laboratory analysis of Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC), a method set by scientists at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in Boston, the ORAC value of wolf-berry is 25,300 units per 100 grams, nearly eight times that of pomegranate. Compared with other highly potent antioxidants derived from traditional Chinese herbs, wolfberry was even more effective in scavenging superoxide radicals and in preventing their formation.

Suggested Use: Take three capsules early in the day, preferably on an empty stomach, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.
